About me

I do not know better than to follow my heart. My passion: creation, in the broadest sense of the word.

In my youth I was determined to earn my living with music. During this musical mission I studied Cross-Media Design in Amsterdam. My passion for design outgrew my love for music, which resulted in a digital media agency Stoel de Munk. After 5 years, I decided to fully focus on online start-ups. This resulted in a series of companies and various collaborations. Some still exist today, others died an honorable death. In recent years I have mainly been active as freelancer. Where I design for -and guide- startups and organisations.

I always adapt my working methods to the situation and circumstances. Sometimes this is a long preliminary investigation, sometimes the best to do is start creating right away. But in every case, establishing real value for the end user is my main focus. I strive not to be stuck to one style, but instead reinvent myself every time, matching the needs and brand of the client.

I feel most comfortable as outsider. This way I stay free of daily hassle what enables me to see things in a fresh perspective. I’m strongest when I can experiment, when there is room for trial and error. I prefer to be involved in the first stage of ideas and business concepts. Unknown market, that I have yet no experience with, attract me even more. This way I can deepen, learn and renew.

A brand and product is never finished. That’s why I usually work in the form of long-term collaborations. What characterises me is a broad interest and a diverse set of skills. I have many years of experience in the design of brands, websites, applications, illustrations, copywriting, animation, company development and strategies.

I live with my girlfriend, son and daughter in Amsterdam. No day passes by without playing the blues on my guitar. The smell of pancakes makes me happy and often I let myself be tempted into new hobbies and projects. I love new technical developments and I go into the wild once a year to fully reset.

Btw I never turn down a call, and I’m always interested in new business concepts and collaborations to conquer the world.
